Oklahoma Sooners
Saturday, the no. 4 Oklahoma Sooners try to keep their Big 12 championship and national title hopes afloat when they host a fellow one-loss team in No. 16 Kansas. Odds makers call the 5-1 Sooners a 19 1/2 point favorite against visiting Jayhawks.

A week ago in last Saturday's Red River Rivalry game the no. 5 Texas Longhorns upset the top-ranked Sooners in the Cotton Bowl. Oklahoma led by as many as 11 points in the first half before being outscored in the game's final 20 minutes, dropping the contest 45-35.

"It's always disappointing to invest so much and you end up losing," Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. "But in the end, I think everyone realizes, if you watch everyone else play, it isn't that easy to go undefeated at all."

Last season, the Jayhawks were one of the nation's biggest surprises. They went 12-1, defeating then no. 5 Virginia Tech 24-21 in the Orange Bowl. This season, Kansas has remained on the outskirts of the BCS
Championship hunt with three straight wins after suffering a 37-34 loss at South Florida on Sept. 12.

Keeping those championship aspersions alive will be tough this week against the high powered Oklahoma offense. Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford has thrown for 2,052 yards and 23 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Despite the loss a week ago, the junior signal caller was 28-of-39 for 387 yards and five touchdowns against Texas.

Bradford wasn't the problem, the Sooners ground game was only able to muster 48 yards rushing against the tough Longhorn rush defense.

For the Jayhawks to have any chance of beating OU, Kansas' quarterback Todd Reesing and running back Jake Sharp will need to put up huge numbers and control the clock. The Jayhawks will have to keep Bradford and the Sooners passing attack off of the field.

Look for Oklahoma to bounce back after their tough loss to Texas and put a serious thumping on the Jayhawks at home. Take the Sooners and give the points, they have something to prove.
