Bills quarterback Trent Edwards participated in drills Monday after taking a full week off to recover from a significant concussion he suffered from a hit by Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson.

"I feel as close to 100 per cent as possible," Edwards said. "Today's practice went well. I've never had a concussion to this extent before so I don't really know what the time frame is to get healthy from it. I'm happy and excited that I'm out there with my team-mates."

Edwards insists he feels completely ready to resume duties and face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. He seemed less concerned with the state of his head than with missing practice for a week.

"It's definitely hard taking a week off and not touching a football and then getting back into it,"
he said. "But I was pleased with the way I threw the ball and pleased with the way the calls were coming out of my mouth in the huddle."

Edwards may no be too concerned with his head, but the Buffalo coaching staff surely is with San Diego next up on the schedule.

The Chargers sacked New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel four times in their 30-10 win last Sunday night. The Bills offensive line was considered strong going into this season, but has struggled a bit allowing 16 sacks. That is sixth most in the NFL, after giving up just 26 in all of 2007.

With Edwards in the line-up, the Bills are 4-0 with three fourth-quarter comebacks. However, when Edwards went out during the first series against Arizona, the team appeared to suffer a complete letdown with J.P Losman in the game. Buffalo lost 41-17.
