Texas Longhorns Saturday night under the lights of Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, the 6-0 Texas Longhorns will look to remain undefeated and protect their first regular-season No. 1 ranking since 1984 against the Missouri Tigers. The no. 11 ranked Tigers will be trying to bounce back from their first loss of the season last week at the hands of the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
"Right now, this team would be known for heart and character and toughness," said Texas coach Mack Brown. "Everybody has questioned this team, including me. I didn't know how good we are."
Texas is apparently good enough to be ranked no. 1, but not without help from across the country. Texas jumped over three top-five teams that lost last weekend, including Missouri. After losing to the Cowboys, Missouri has dropped to no. 11.
"Put it all on me," said
Even with the loss, Missouri is still a top contender for the Big 12 title. They know that a win over the top-ranked team in the country could go a long way toward determining how things shake out for Missouri at the end of the regular season.
"You look at all the so-called title contenders, and we're right outside the Top 10," Daniel said. "At the end of the year it means something. We know we have a huge, huge test ahead of us."
We Texas clearly in the driver seat in a quest for a BCS Title. The Longhorns will need to beat Missouri for the fifth straight time. They have won the last four meetings with the Tigers by an average of 23 points, Texas is 5-1 against Missouri since the the Big 12's inaugural 1996 season.

Mudhole
Missou is in for a LOOONG night in Austin. The Horn's d-line pass rush will hurry and harrass Daniel all night long, Orakpo will get his usual 203 sacks, and given Oklahoma's total of 48 yards rushing against the Horns, and Daniel's arm is all Missou has to work with. Plus, it's a home game for Texas, it's first since going on the road to beat CO and OK. Mentally, Texas confidence is at an all-time high right now, while Missou now has boat-loads of unanswered questions about itself. Strange things do happen in football, but Texas losing to Missou this weekend would qualify as one of the strangest of all. |

I am a Texan and a Longhorn fan. TEXAS beat Missouri so a number of my Frat brothers of(Alpha Phi Alpha) who are Grads of Missouri can shut up. All I have heard for them all week, "The Tigers will upset the Longhorns."
