Browns vs Giants The Cleveland Browns have shocked the New York Giants on Monday Night Football 35-14. In a game that the Giants were expected to just show up a win, the Browns had other ideas and may have saved their season.
Cleveland quarterback Derek Anderson led the Browns with an excellent performance. Anderson was 18-of-29 for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns. Anderson was able to hook-up with Pro-Bowl wide-out Braylon Edwards five times for 154 yards and a touchdown.
"We were just in sync," said Edwards after the game. "I think D.A. (Derek Anderson) made some great throws. It was a great night, you know, Monday Night Football. Tonight, he was the best quarterback in the NFL."
Before tonight,
On the defensive side of the ball the Browns recorded just one sack, but were in Giants quarterback Eli Manning's face all night long. The Browns intercepted Manning three times, including a 94 yard pick for a touchdown by Eric Wright with a little over 8 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
"I'm disappointed, obviously very disappointed," said Giants coach Tom Coughlin in the post game press conference. "But make no excuses for this. We lost a game that we didn't play well enough to win."
Next week, the now 2-3 Browns go to Washington to play a very good Redskins team that is coming off a tough loss to the Rams at home. The Giants host the 2-4 San Francisco 49ers.
