Auburn Tigers The 20th ranked Auburn Tigers host the Arkansas Razorbacks at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday as they try to get their offense together. Odds makers are calling the Tigers a 16 1/2 point favorite with the total sitting at 41.
After posting just 82 total yards in the final three quarters of last week's loss the Vanderbilt, Auburn will be trying to find a way to put up some points.
"We're definitely trying to find our identity," said junior running back Ben Tate. "As an offense, to be truthful, we're just awful. There's no other way to put it. Your numbers don't lie. We're just not good on offense right now. We just have to find a way to get better."
Tate is surely the Tigers top threat. His 501 yards rushing leads the team. Auburn's defense has kept them competitive. They are allowing a meager 11.1 points per games.
"There's no panic," coach Tommy Tuberville said. "We've just got to look ourselves in the eye. We've got to find ways to score more points and win games."
This could be bad
"I think it shows if you come out and prepare, work hard, you go to practice with a good attitude, that you get yourself in a position to win the game," said Petrino.
That being said, a good attitude does not necessarily create pass protection. Senior quarterback Casey Dick has been sacked 10 times over the last two games and 18 times this season. It does not figure to get any better against the Auburn defense.
Junior running back Michael Smith has been most, if not all of the Arkansas offense. He leads the team in rushing with 423 yards and 3 touchdowns. Smith was the only Razorback to record a carry against Florida. He has also has hauled in 18 passes for 171 yards and one touchdown.
Look for Auburn to contain Smith and control the game with their defense. Maybe even get their offense on track. Take the Tigers and give the points.
