South Florida Bulls
Thursday night the 10th ranked South Florida Bulls host the Pitt Panthers as they begin their Big-East schedule. The 5-0 Bulls look to start conference play just as they ended it a season ago, with a victory over Pittsburgh. Odds makers are calling South Florida a 14 point favorite at home with the total sitting at 49.

The South Florida offense is led by quarterback Matt Grothe. The junior signal caller has thrown for 1,175 yards and 8 touchdowns in five games for the Bulls. Grothe also leads South Florida in rushing with 219 yards and a touchdown. Grothe's 235.0 passing yards per game is tops in the Big East.

"We are more mature," said Grothe. "We know we just need to play football and
it will all come as it should if we keep winning."

Grothe passed for 259 yards and one touchdown against N.C. State a week ago, however the big story was the South Florida defense. The Bulls allowed just 26 yards on the ground, with a 1 yard per rush average and just 13 points.

"I think everybody who's been around and watched South Florida play knows how talented they are," said Panthers coach Dave Wannstedt. "They have a great defense."

Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy, the nations top freshman rusher last season will try to crack the Bulls defense. McCoy has complied almost 400 yards and five touchdowns thus far in 2008.

South Florida should not have a problem with Pitt at home. Take the Bulls and give the 14 points.
