Jeremy Shockey Traded To The New Orleans Saints

Traded To Saints Jeremy Shockey had fallen out of favor with the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. Thanks to their run through the playoffs without Shockey, the Giants felt they could move forward without him.
On Monday, the Giants traded away their former first round pick from the Miami Hurricanes to the New Orleans Saints. They received a second round and a fifth round pick for the tight end.
Shockey is coming off of a major injury which kept him out of the playoff run that the Giants made last year. He had a love-hate
At times, Shockey was one of the most dominating tight ends in the league. There were other times, however, that he served as more of a distraction than anything else. He now has a chance to rebuild his credentials in a new city.
New Orleans gets another weapon for Drew Brees to throw to. Last year, the Saints struggled after being the surprise of the league the year before. They are looking to get back on top of their division, and they feel the trade for Shockey will lead them there.
