Prosecutors in Fulton County, Georgia have filed two counts of misdemeanor battery against Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall. Police say that Marshall allegedly threw his ex-girlfriend on a bed, slapped her and damaged her apartment on March 4th.

The news coming just days after Marshall hauled in 18 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Marshall said he has been waiting for the charges to be filed for months from the arrest on March 6th. He was not sure why they came so far after the complaint.

"Everything that came out in camp was from last year and there was an incident in March, but that's still an open case and we have been
waiting months for those charges to be filed," Marshall said.

March's arrest was Marshall third in about one year.

He was arrested in Douglas County, south of Denver in March of 2007 when his girlfriend told police, Marshall blocked her taxi with another vehicle during an argument. In an incident in October of 2007, Marshall was arrested for driving under the influence. He plead guilty to driving while ability-impaired (a lesser charge) last week, he was sentenced to on year of probation.

Marshall served a one game suspention in week one because of these arrestes. Marshall is ready to move on and get on with playing football. "That's my past. I'm excited about this year, football-wise," Marshall said. "I'm happy right now."
