Thursday night's game between the No. 21 West Virginia Mountaineers and the Colorado Buffaloes is shaping up to be an interesting match-up. The Mountaineers are trying to gain back some credibility after losing to East Carolina on September 6th. The Buffaloes, 2-0 with wins over Eastern Washington and Colorado State, are 3 point underdogs at home against West Virginia with the total set at 56 1/2.

The Mountaineers played badly against ECU. East Carolina stifled the Mountaineers offense, limiting West Virginia to only 143 yards on the ground and sacking quarterback Pat White three times. West Virginia has been one of the nation's best running teams over the years. They will need a rushing attack against the Buffaloes.

"We definitely have to establish the run," White
said. "If you can't run the ball, people are just going to sit in coverage and stop everything. You've got to balance it out and have both."

The Buffaloes have been good thus far against the run, but West Virginia will be bringing quite a lot more than Colorado State and Eastern Washington. They have also struggled to run the ball themselves, even with one of the nation's top freshman recruits, RB Darrell Scott.

"We've been working on our timing and how everything is supposed to develop," Scott said this week. "We are trying to get our steps down and get fluid with everything. I think everything is in sync now." Scott went on to say that the backs and the line have spent a lot of extra time trying to get back to basics.

With both offenses struggling to run, go with the under in this one. Take the under 56 1/2.
