Buffalo Bills
With the season-ending knee injury to Tom Brady and the addition of Brett Favre to the division, most think that the AFC East is now wide open. But who is the favorite? The Jets? Still the Pats? Surely not the Dolphins. How about the Buffalo Bills?

Buffalo is off to a 2-0 start with impressive victories over the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars. In week one against the Seattle, the Bills quarterback Trent Edwards was 19-of-30 for 215 yards and one touchdown. Running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 76 yards on 18 carries including a 21-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

In week two against the Jaguars the Bills did much of the same on offense. Edwards looked sharp connecting for 20-of 25 for 239 yards. Lynch scored his second
touchdown of the season on an 11-yard run and back-up Fred Jackson effectively spelled Lynch when needed. The defense came up big against Jacksonville on third downs holding the Jags to only 2-of-11 conversions.

So far the Bills have shown a good mix of pass and run. The defense has done their job, coming up big when it has to. The X-factor for the Bills is on special teams. Roscoe Parish is one of the leagues best return men. Parish led the NFL with a 16.3 yard average on punt returns in 2007. He picked up right where he left off in '07 with a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown in week one.

If the Buffalo Bills continue to play tough in all three aspects of the game, offense, defense and special teams, the AFC East could have a new division winner when 2008 is all said and done.
