Vikings vs Colts The Colts and the Vikings both come in have lost their openers and looking to shake off poor performances in week one. Last week the Colts were man-handled by the Chicago Bears 29-13, while the Vikings were dismantled by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on Monday Night Football. This week, the Colts come in to Minnesota a 1 1/2 point favorite on the road with the total set at 43 1/2.
Colts quarterback Peyton Manning did not play in the pre-season and it showed last week against the Bears. Manning looked rusty, the precision timing we have come to expect from the Colts offense was not there on the opening night of Lucas Oil Stadium. The Bears snapped the Colts 21-game winning streak in September and October. Manning threw for 257 yards, however the Colts could only muster 53 yards on the ground.
"Usually on Monday, you come in a say the tape wasn't as bad
Even though Vikings running back Adrian Peterson rushed for 103 yards, while the team pounded out 187 on the ground, the Vikings still came up short in Green Bay. The Viking defense led by their heralded front four didn't record a sack or a turnover in the game.
"For me, it burns my gut," said Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, who was one of the Vikings big off-season acquisitions. "I feel like I could have done more to help our team win. This was one of the least productive games I've every had in my life."
Things will not get any easier for the Vikings this week, expect the Colts to be running on all cylinders this week. Take the Colts and give the 1 1/2.
