Michigan vs Notre Dame
Michigan vs Notre Dame
The Michigan Wolverines travel to South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish in an early season defensive battle. This one pits two struggling offenses against two good defenses. Odds makers are calling Michigan a 2 point favorite on the road with the over set at 37.

Simply put, the Irish played a bad San Diego State team last week and struggled on offense. It's not going to get any easier against Michigan. Charlie Weis' offense is not scaring anyone these days. Expect to see Michigan's front seven all over Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen all day long. Clausen clearly has all the tools to be a great passer, however he will not have much time to get the ball to WR Golden Tate, his only true play maker.

Even thought they only recorded one sack, the Wolverine
defensive line was all over QB Daniel Raudabaugh last week and should do much of the same to Notre Dame. Michigan running back Carlos Brown returns from an injury to the starting line-up this week. If Brown is at 100 percent it will take some pressure off freshman Michael Shaw and Sam McGuffie to make plays.

This game will be won or lost by either team in the trenches. The weather will be a huge factor, the forecast calls for rain all day, with wind and thunderstorms. The field will be a mess and their is a distinct possibility that neither team will be able to do much through the air. Whichever offense make the fewest mistakes will dictate the flow.

This one will be decided by defense, special teams and the field position game. Michigan should win, but anything could happen. Take the under 37 in this one.
