Todd Reesing Friday night features a very good match up between the 13th ranked Kansas Jayhawks and the 19th ranked South Florida Bulls. Kansas travels to Tampa's Raymond James Stadium as a 3 1/2 point underdog and look to upset the Bulls win it's forth consecutive game against a ranked opponent.
Jayhawks QB Todd Reesing is leading an offense that is averaging almost 35 points per game. Reesing has passed for 668 yards and 6 touchdowns over the 1st two games, Dezmon Briscoe at WR has become his favorite target. So far in '08, Briscoe has compiled 16 catches for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Kansas, at 2-0, is off to a strong start. Coach Mark Mangino's Jayhawks has won it's first two games at home in dominant fashion. Wins against sub-par opponents, Florida International (40-10) and a 29-0 victory
"I think this is a good measuring stick. to some degree," Mangino said. "But I don't think it's a game where, if we win, we feel like we're going to win all the rest, and if we lose, we're going to have a bad season."
South Florida is led by one of the nations best dual threats on offense. QB Matt Grothe was USF's leading rusher a year ago and is equally dangerous with his arm. Grothe is more than capable of picking apart a defense throw the air.
"He is a lot like some of the quarterbacks in the Big 12. Most of our quarterbacks can run and throw. It's not something that we haven't seen before." Kansas safety Darrell Stuckey said. "It is something that will prepare us for our conference games."
Kansas should win out right. Take the Jayhawks plus the points.
