This Sunday afternoon in the Superdome, the New Orleans Saints look to bounce back from last week's crushing overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcon's when they face-off with another NFC South division foe.
Today, the Saints take on the 0-3 Carolina Panthers and they will be doing so with a new kicker. New Orleans has brought back 22-year veteran John Carney to replace Garrett Hartley when they host the winless Panthers.
Hartley's miss in OT prevented the Saints from starting 3-0 for the second straight season.
For the Saints, injury problems and new personnel has clouded their usual clear fantasy outlook.
At running back, Reggie Bush is out with a broken fibula and is not expected back for another three or four weeks. Pierre Thomas was expected to get the bulk of the carries; however, he is nursing an injured ankle.
There has not been a lot of talk about Thomas' status, but fantasy owners can read between the lines as the team signed tailback DeShawn Wynn off the practice squad.
Sit all your New Orleans RB's for this one. There is too much uncertainty at the position this week.
Expect the Saint to have to rely on the arm of quarterback Drew Brees all day long. He should be in the line for any one who owns him. Brees is a must-start for Week 4 for sure.
Carolina has not had any real top fantasy pointer getter thus far. Owners have not seen much productivity from running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Both should be benched for this match-up.
Carolina's lack of offense also make the New Orleans defense an attractive situational start this week.
