Jerry Rice & Emmitt Smith

During their playing days, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith never cracked under pressure on the grid iron.

However, opposing defenses way have finally figured out a way to stop two of the most prolific offensive players the NFL has ever seen. Tell them they are headed to Canton and watch them crumble.

The men who tore apart the league's best defenses through the 1990's, couldn't handle the emotions this past Saturday when they were elected into the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame class along with five others.

"They told me, 'Don't cry,' " Rice said, his eyes wet with tears. "It
meant the world to me, just like winning a Super Bowl. On draft day, I didn't take that for granted. I didn't take this for granted. I am just honored to stand up there with greatness."

Smith teared up as well when he spoke about his father.

"I was living his dream," Smith said. "We are blessed to achieve this level of greatness together."

Rice and Smith each won three Lombardi Trophies with the 49ers and Cowboys respectfully. They were also each named Super Bowl MVP in one of those victories. Smith was the 1993 league MVP.

They will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on August 7th.
