According to reports coming out of Baltimore, the Ravens have announced on Saturday they have hired ex-Redskins coach Jim Zorn as their quarterbacks coach.

Zorn is going to be replacing Hue Jackson. Jackson left for Oakland earlier in the week try and get JaMarcus Russell to actually turn into an NFL quarterback.

Zorn is going to have a little bit of an easier time with Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

"Jim played successfully in the league for a long time, and certainly understands what an NFL quarterback goes through," Ravens coach John Harbaugh told The Baltimore Sun. "He has been an NFL quarterback coach, NFL head coach and is familiar with our offense. That's a great resume for us."

Zorn was let go by the Redskins after a 4-12 season, capped by a 23-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers in the season finale. It was the team's worst record in 15 years. Zorn was
12-20 in two seasons in Washington.

"I've gotten to know Jim the last couple of years and I'm impressed with him as a person," Harbaugh said. "He's a good, kind and decent man. He's an exciting addition to our staff."

Zorn of course, played for the Seattle Seahawks in the mid 70's into the 80's. After his playing career concluded, Zorn returned to college football as an assistant coach.

His first stop was at Boise State University, where he was the quarterbacks coach from 1988-1991. He then served as the offensive coordinator for Utah State from 1992-94. From 1995-1996 Zorn coached the quarterbacks for the University of Minnesota.

In the Pro's, Zorn has been the quarterback coach with the Seahawks, Lions, and now the Ravens. After Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs retired in January 2008, owner Daniel Snyder hired Zorn as the team's new offensive coordinator. About a month later, he made him the Redskins' new head coach.
