The biggest story of week two comes out of Denver where the Broncos were handed a victory by the officials. With Denver down by 7, just seconds to play and the ball inside the 5-yard-line, Broncos QB Jay Cutler rolled to his right and appeared to have the ball slip out of his hand for a fumble. The Charges recovered and iced the victory on the road. Problem was, the play was ruled an incomplete pass on the field.

The Browns are looking to rebound from last weeks poor performance against the Cowboys. Cleveland has high expectations for 2008 after finishing 10-6 last season. In week one Dallas out-manned and outplayed the Browns, as Cleveland was embarrassed 28-10 in the opener.

In the wake of Tom Brady's season ending knee injury, the AFC East is now wide open. The Buffalo Bills are underated and being overlooked. Dispite a brilliant victory at home a against the Seattle Seahawks, the Bills come into Jacksonville as a 5 1/2 point underdog.

The Jaguars are looking to bounce back after a disappointing lose to the Tennessee Titans in week one. Jacksonville only produced 189 total yards and most disturbing for the Jags, only 33 of those yards were on the ground. Things are not going to get any easier in week two. The Jaguars lost both of their starting guards, Vince Manuwai and Maurice Willaims, to season ending injuries.

The Tennessee Titans are expected to sign QB Doug Johnson to back-up Kerry Collins. A mist swirling speculation about Vince Young's status, physically and mentally, the Titans are now looking to Johnson. Tennessee signed Chris Simms earlier this week, but think Johnson may have a greater familiarity with the Titans offense under coach Mike Heimerdinger. Johnson would be the number 2 while Simms would be the number 3 QB.

Johnson was with Tennessee in 2004 when Heimerdinger was the team's offensive coordinator...

Saints wide receiver Marques Colston had surgery on his left thumb and will be out 4-6 weeks. Colston suffered a torn ligament in last Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Colston tried to continue, but finished the game with only three catches for 26 yards.

The 28 year old Simms threw for almost 3,100 yards and 12 touchdowns in parts of three seasons with Tampa Bay. Simms was the Buccaneers starter until game three of the 2006 season, when a serious on the field injury resulted in the removal of his spleen. Simms was out of the league in 2007.

Merriman had hoped to put off the surgery and play through the pain in 2008, but after he barley resembled himself in the Chargers opener he informed his team he would be having the surgery.

Chargers general manager, A.J. Smith said in a statement, "Shawne informed me he did not feel right and thought it best t shut it down."
