Florida Gators Top Season's First BCS Top 25 Poll

The BCS has spoken and the Florida Gators are the number one team in the nation despite falling to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll. Florida, Alabama and Texas hold the top three spots in this season's the first BCS standings and control their on destiny in the race for a national title.
The Gators (.988) are on top, just ahead of the Crimson Tide (.952) and Texas (.891) is third. Of course the BCS's number one and number two teams will play in the BCS title game on Jan. 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to decide a national champion.
The Boise State Broncos are is fourth, but they would seem to be a huge long...

Just 16 days after weightlifting accident crushed his neck, University of Southern California running back Stafon Johnson was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

According to a source close to New Mexico coach Mike Locksley, the Lobos first year head man will be suspended for his team's October 24 game against UNLV.
Apparently, Locksley is being suspended after the university conducted an internal investigation into allegations that he struck his former wide receivers coach, J.B. Gerald, during a heated coaches meeting on September 20th.
The source said that Locksley will be suspended without pay for eight working days and will not be allowed...
