Texas Longhorns Jump To No. 2 In BCS Standings

The Texas Longhorns took a small step forward in this week's Bowl Championship Series standings, and the remaining unbeaten teams held down the first seven spots.
The Longhorns jumped one spot from third place to second, moving ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide, but they remain one behind the Florida Gators. The move is merely cosmetic as Texas, Florida and Alabama are already in control of their own destiny in the BCS championship race.

Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant will remain suspended for the remainder of the football season for lying to NCAA investigators.
The NCAA has ruled that the junior All-American wide-out will not be eligible to play for the Oklahoma State Cowboys until September 2010. That means that Bryant may opt out of his senior year and possibly choose to enter the NFL draft and bring an end to his college career.

Saturday Night in Knoxville, the 2nd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will be looking to remain perfect while trying to avoid a third straight road loss to the Tennessee Volunteers. Odds makers call the Tide a 5 point favorite on the road.
The SEC's lone undefeated team is 7-0 Alabama and as long as they stay unbeaten, the Crimson Tide should be playing in Miami on Jan. 8 for the BCS Championship.

Saturday afternoon the no. 1 ranked Texas Longhorns host the no. 7 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys in Austin. Odds makers have the Longhorns as a 12 1/2 point favorite with the total sitting at 67.
