Week Eleven NCAA News

The Alabama Crimson Tide, at no. 1 and the Texas Tech Red Raiders, at no. 2 and their perfect records were on top of the polls Sunday. Texas, Florida and Oklahoma, lead all the one loss teams at the top of the rankings.

The only difference between the AP poll and the BCS Standings is between Texas and Florida. In the BCS Standings the 9-1 Texas Longhorns ate sitting at number 3 with the 8-1 Gators are at number 4. In the AP poll, Florida is 3 and Texas is 4.

The Oklahoma Sooners with a 9-1 record and the 8-1 USC Trojans are at five and six in both polls.

Saturday afternoon the Florida State Seminoles host the Clemson Tigers at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee. With his son Tommy gone, Florida State coach Bobby Bowden doesn't have to worry about losing to him anymore but, he has bigger concerns, like losing a chance to win the ACC's Atlantic Division.

Odds makers are calling the Seminoles a home favorite as they try to keep pace in the conference division race. College football betting lines have the Noles at -4 with the total sitting at 44.

Saturday night the 5th ranked Florida Gators head to Nashville to take on the Commodores in Vanderbilt Stadium. Odds makers are calling the Gators double digit favorites on the road. College football betting lines have Florida at -24 with the total sitting at 49.

Florida looks to avoid a letdown this week after their most emotional game of the season a week ago against Georgia. The Gators beat the Bulldogs 49-10 in Jacksonville last week to avenge last year's heartbreaking loss.

Off to a 9-0 start, Texas Tech has steadily climbed the rankings, but until a week ago they didn't figure in the BCS title picture. That is, until last week’s victory over then-ranked no. 1 Texas.

Saturday the Texas Longhorns look to get back on the winning track as they face-off with Baylor when the Bears come to town. Odds makers are calling the Longhorns a 28 point favorite with the total sitting at 61.

If not for a last-second play against Texas Tech, the Longhorns would be rejoicing over surviving a brutal stretch of games that saw Texas face four consecutive teams ranked 11th or better.
