According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, sources say that Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been told he will be fired if he interviews for the head-coaching vacancy with the New York Jets.

Despite the threat from athletic director Gene DeFilippo, Jagodzinski does indeed plan to do the interview with the Jets on Monday, the sources said. Those sources also say that if Jagodzinski is fired, the Eagles would promote offensive coordinator Steve Logan to head coach.

Friday evening the Liberty Bowl the Kentucky Wildcats take on East Carolina in the Pirates first January bowl game in 17 years. East Carolina is riding a three game winning streak into Memphis, while the Wildcats have lost three straight. With both of these teams coming off division losses from a week ago, another loss would be devastating to their playoff chances. In the wide-open NFC South, there is still enough time, however a win this week is key.
